Happy Retirement to Volunteer Virgil Burkhardt
Virgil Burkhardt has been a dedicated and active member of the Addison community since moving here in August 1991. By trade, Virgil is an accomplished electrical engineer. His passion for the community has been evident throughout his many years in Addison. In 2000, Virgil participated in the Town of Addison’s first Citizens Academy, showcasing his commitment to understanding and supporting the Town’s initiatives. In 2005, he began volunteering with Addison, before the establishment of an official volunteer program. Over the years, Virgil has volunteered hundreds of hours, including serving as a weekly volunteer at both the former Treehouse and Town Hall.
From 2000 to 2012, Virgil also brought his professional expertise to Addison in a unique way. As a paid website administrator, he assisted the marketing department by researching and cataloging information on local restaurants.
Virgil recently announced that he was taking a step back from volunteering to devote more time to his hobbies and family. Thank you, Virgil, for your years of dedication and the positive impact you continue to make in Addison.
