Council Approves Creation of the Addison Tourism Public Improvement Di
The Addison City Council approved the creation of the Addison Tourism Public Improvement District (TPID) at its February 25 meeting. A TPID is a dedicated funding mechanism designed to enhance tourism marketing and attract convention and group business to Addison.
The TPID will assess a 2% fee on taxable room sales at hotels with 50 or more rooms, generating an estimated $15.8 million over 10 years. These funds will be allocated toward marketing, sales, administration, and tourism research, with oversight from a board composed of Addison hoteliers. The TPID will officially launch on April 1, 2025, with the first remittances due in May.
This initiative will provide a sustainable investment in Addison’s tourism economy, further strengthening the Town’s position as a premier destination.
