In July, the Council approved a $1,050,000 Airport Improvement Program (AIP) grant from the FAA, administered by TxDOT Aviation, to fund a comprehensive update of Addison Airport’s Master Plan. This funding includes a 10% matching share of $105,000 from the Airport Fund.

To guide the Master Plan update, two committees will oversee the process. The Executive Committee, consisting of the consultant team, staff, and TxDOT Aviation representatives, will handle the project's administration and management. The Project Steering Committee (PSC), will provide a platform for public participation and input. At the December 10 City Council meeting, each Council member selected two representatives to serve on the PSC. These Council appointments will join 12 airport business representatives selected by staff to create the 26-member committee.

The Master Plan update emphasizes public engagement to shape the future of Addison Airport. There will be several opportunities for public input during the development of the updated plan.
