The website approved by the City Council last fall launched on September 30. The new site includes the main website, as well as subsites for Parks and Recreation, Addison Airport, Addison Police Department, Economic Development, and Development Services. The new navigation is reorganized using the metrics of how visitors use the website like data analysis and user testing to make it easier to find the most requested pages.
The site also features a new website address: AddisonTx.gov. Because a government entity has to be approved to use a .gov domain, search engines give priority to these sites, increasing searchability. The new URL also aligns with the Town staff email addresses to simplify communication. The prior site (addisontexas.net), will redirect to the new site, but we are asking the community to move toward using the new address.
